that’s bull, he educators that i know work more hours on average than 40, usually 50 or 60. I wonder how they are measuring this.

    Yeah, I bet they’re classifying hours in the office rather than the hours spent outside of that. I try to keep work at work (for the most part), but I know that the guy in the office next to me always works late and almost always works on weekends. But he probably wouldn’t report that time if asked though, because it’s unofficial and his own choice.

    But I don’t mind being in a profession that works fewer hours overall. Proud of it, if anything!

    I wonder what the word “work” means in this context… sitting at the desk?
